The long secondary period (LSP) phenomenon, which is commonly observed in pulsating red giants, has not been detected any Mira yet. goal of this paper to verify, if there a physical reason for or it simply an observational bias. OGLE-III Sample Long Period Variables the Large Magellanic Cloud, containing 1663 Miras, used perform search periodicity these objects and identify candidates stars based on location period-luminosity diagram. Out 108 were identified as potential candidates, with variability broadly consistent LSP. This makes 7% whole sample Cloud. Most, all LSP are C-rich stars. results analysis suggest that Miras may exhibit periods. However, long-term can also be related amplitude irregularities known exhibit. Further study will necessary draw definitive conclusion.
